Spring 2019 Practice Updates

We are excited to share with you some changes here in Mansfield as we enter our fourth year in practice!

Please welcome Yvette to Infinity Family Care!

We have a new off-site phone receptionist, Yvette, who will be answering many of the incoming phone calls to the office. She is very experienced and is excited to work with us and get to know our patients. While you will not see her here in Mansfield, she is already a very integral part of our team, working directly with Christine in the office to make sure your calls are handled quickly and efficiently.

Please note we have installed a brand new phone system. It is important that the only number you use to contact us is the main phone, 508-339-2900.

Transition from Spruce to Elation Passport Portal.

We are moving away from the Spruce messaging app to the “portal” built into our electronic health record. The Elation Passport is a more robust communication platform which will allow us to share reports and results with you more easily. You can use it to send us messages about refills, appointments, and non-urgent questions related to your health. You can expect a response within one business day. If you have an URGENT need outside of office hours that cannot wait until the next business day, please call our main phone number, 508-339-2900. We will be sending out “invitations” to set up the portal by email.

We will share more updates about our transition away from Spruce later in the year.

New Lab Service Provider and Lab Billing Policy Changes.

In mid-April, Mercy Diagnostics was purchased by MedLabs and they have assumed responsibility for phlebotomy and lab services at our office. MedLabs is a full service laboratory, similar to Mercy, and we do not expect any meaningful changes in the quality of the lab services. However, as of June 1, 2019, MedLabs will no longer write off lab balances that are not covered by your insurance. That means that if there is a deductible or co-insurance portion of a lab bill, you will be responsible for paying that portion, just as if you had the lab services done at a hospital or other free-standing lab site (ie, Quest, Labcorp).
