As the kids go back to school and weather changes we start to see more viral illnesses making folks miserable! For many of these illnesses the best prevention we have is frequent hand washing and reminding kids to cough into their elbows and not to share drinks or utensils. For influenza we can greatly reduce the chance we will be down for the count by getting a vaccination before the flu season hits.

Find out more about Direct Primary Care so that this doesn’t happen to you too:
“I just got a $1,025 bill for my 6 year old to have an X-ray of his belly, ultrasound of his kidneys and pee in a potty with a scale at the bottom to measure his flow rate. When I called the hospital to ask if they had any prompt pay discount or other help with this bill they said “we do for people without insurance but not for you because you have insurance” 😠
My point in sharing this is not only to vent but to be sure everyone knows to ask ahead what tests are going to cost, you CAN shop around for non-urgent tests and prices vary hugely from one location to another, generally the hospitals are by far more expensive and independent facilities far less but please ask!
Shame on me for not taking my own advice.” ... See MoreSee Less
